Arlene Moeller
she/her
LMFT 145068
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Arlene changed careers from an elementary school teacher to therapy after her first child passed away from SIDS. It was at this time in her life when she first experienced individual therapy, which helped her get through a dark time in her life. It was then that she began thinking about changing her career path. Her therapist, who also happened to be a bishop in the Episcopal Church, encouraged her to complete the Counseling Skills Certificate at the University of Santa Barbara, which she did. She received her first Masters in 1989 and worked as an MFT intern in a Middle School and a High School for five years. This was followed by employment as a children's social worker for Los Angeles County DCFS for more than 16 years. During the last year or so of social work, she decided to go back to school and re-do her Masters, which was followed by both paid and volunteer internships, which included an out-patient drug treatment program, counseling in an elementary school and high school, and providing therapy to children in intensive mental health treatment programs.
